Other industries associated with the town have included clothing manufacture and sawmilling.\nThe area is sand country with a temperate climate, average monthly temperatures ranging from 8\u00b0C (July) to 17.4\u00b0C (January), with a minimum\/maximum of -4\u00b0C to 27\u00b0C.
