Panhandle Agricultural Institute, which would go through many changes to later become Oklahoma Panhandle State University, was established in 1909. Goodwell is also the home of No Man's Land Museum, which was originally established in 1932 as a project of the science department at Panhandle Agricultural & Mechanical College (PAMC).
