{"id":36045,"count":1,"description":"Loose Creek is an unincorporated community in Osage County, Missouri, USA. It is located on U.S. Route 50 about eight miles east of Jefferson City. Originally called Russellville, it was renamed for the creek which runs near it.\nGerman immigrant Theodore Lock arrived in the area in 1841 and established the Lock mill with his family. The original building was destroyed by fire in 1972 and was replaced with a newer, more modern building. Many German families, especially from the Krefeld area settled here around 1851. The community appeared in the series \"Germans in America\" on German television. Because of its German heritage it is mainly a Catholic town. In recent years, population has boomed along the \"Bonnots Mill Road\" on Highway A in the direction of neighboring Bonnots Mill. Loose Creek has also produced many leaders including recently elected Tau Kappa Epsilon President, Dustin Thoenen.\nLoose Creek, population about 200, is a small town.
