{"id":28354,"count":4,"description":"St. Anthony, also known as Saint Anthony Village, is a city in Hennepin and Ramsey counties in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The population was 8,012 at the 2000 census. About 6,000 residents live in the larger Hennepin County part of the city, with about 2,000 residents in the Ramsey County part. The city is run by a five-member Council consisting of a mayor and four Council members who serve 4 year terms. It was formed as a township in 1861 and became a village in 1945. (All Minnesota villages became cities in 1974, but St. Anthony is still referred to popularly as St. Anthony Village.) St. Anthony Township once encompassed most of what is today Northeast Minneapolis.
