Ludowici is located 30 miles (48\u00a0km) from the coast and is nestled between the Georgia towns of Jesup, Darien, Hinesville\/Ft. Stewart, and Glennville.\nOriginally called Johnston Station, it was incorporated on August 23, 1905. The city was later renamed after William Ludowici.
