Traditionally divided into Upper Galilee (Hebrew: \u05d2\u05dc\u05d9\u05dc \u05e2\u05dc\u05d9\u05d5\u05df\u200e Galil Elyon), Lower Galilee (Hebrew: \u05d2\u05dc\u05d9\u05dc \u05ea\u05d7\u05ea\u05d5\u05df\u200e Galil Tahton), and Western Galilee (Hebrew: \u05d2\u05dc\u05d9\u05dc \u05de\u05e2\u05e8\u05d1\u05d9\u200e Galil Ma'aravi), extending from Dan to the north, at the base of Mount Hermon, along Mount Lebanon to the ridges of Mount Carmel and Mount Gilboa to the south, and from the Jordan Rift Valley to the east across the plains of the Jezreel Valley and Acre to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and the Coastal Plain in the west.\nMost of Galilee consists of rocky terrain, at heights of between 500 and 700 metres.
