The first skateboarders rode down hills in Carlsbad, CA with clay wheels so that they would have an activity to do when the surf wan&#8217;t good.  Not until the 1970&#8217;s, the first skatepark was made in Southern California.  Next the skateboard building boom was about to begin.  Many skate parks that were built in the next dozen years.  Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America.
