Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skateboarders took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to mimic the waves of surfing. The first skate park was made in California. Shortly after, the skateboard park boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skateparks that were built in the next twenty years. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
