Skateboarding is an activity that everyone should learn. The first skaters rode down hills in Carlsbad, CA with clay wheels to mimic the waves of surfing. Not until the 1970's, the first skate park was made in California. Shortly after, the skateboard building boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skateparks that were built in the next twenty years. Today, there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
