About Skateboarding
Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skateboarders took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to mimic the waves of surfing. Not until the 1970's, the first skateboard park was made in California. Shortly after, the skateboard park boom was about to begin. It was thousands of skateparks that were built in the next twenty years. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
