About Skateboarding
The first skateboarders took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to take their surfing to the streets. Not until the 1970's, the first skatepark was made in Southern California. No one knew the skateboard park boom was about to begin. It was thousands of skateparks that were built in the next dozen years. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
