About Skateboarding
The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to take their surfing to the streets. Not until the 1970's, the first concrete skateboard park was made in California. Next the skateboard boom was about to begin. It was thousands of skate parks that were built in the next few years. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
