The first skaters rode down hills in Carlsbad, CA with clay wheels to mimic the waves of surfing. The World's first concrete skateboard park was made in California. Shortly after, the skateboard building boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skate parks that were built in the next dozen years. Today, there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America.
