The first skatepark was made in Southern California. No one knew the skateboard boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skate parks that were built in the next years. Today, there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
