Not until the 1970's, the first skate park was made in California. Shortly after, the skateboard building boom was about to begin. Many skate parks that were built in the next twenty years. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
